Adventures in Dublin's IceHouse

I played last night with the fabulous Boudleaux Allen over in Dublin's IceHouse - a new venue that Gil Gillis has opened up. It's a cool place (pun intended, of course!) that is a combination photography gallery, recording studio, performing space, and event venue.

Gil and the construction team left a lot of the old brick walls bare, so the look of the place (and the acoustics) is nice!

Typical of a small town, Gil does a lot of different 'jobs' - he does video production, audio production (has your standard Pro Tools setup plus some really nice mics and preamps), photography, and now the gallery and venue.

Bonus for me was a chance to play a 1950's era Hammond C3 in excellent shape, complete with a leslie. I setup my Roland RD700sx in an L-configuration and covered bass with my left hand on the Roland while switching between the C3 and the Roland for lead and comping. A lot of fun, plus the pleasure of playing with Boudleaux (who is phenomenal and a VERY tasty player.)

tom&co: Easter music, anybody?

Maybe I'm behind the times (wouldn't surprise me) - but I just discovered that you can get a link to a specific album on the iTunes store.

Since we're heading up to the "next" holiday season - Easter - I thought I'd post the link to tom&co's 2nd album, Seasons. It's half Christmas and half Easter music - all instrumental.

It's also available on CD Baby.

Enjoy!

@ the Georgia Aquarium w/ the Joey Stuckey Band 2/6/10

I'll be performing with the Joey Stuckey Band at the Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta this Saturday, Feb. 6, in the afternoon. We'll be doing two 45-minute sets starting around 2:30.

The odd thing? Everything we'll play will be piped all over the building - including the "big tank room" as well as all the bathrooms.

I'm not sure how I feel about that!

No additional charge other than museum admission!
